What it costs to live here

Most communities will not put a number on a page. We will. Here is what a room starts at, what moves it, and how that compares to the rest of Florida.

What a room starts at

Both of our communities publish a starting price for every room they offer. Assisted living starts at the figures below and moves with how much daily help a resident needs. Memory care is a set rate at both communities.

Every room at both communities is priced below the Florida median for assisted living. That is not a claim about quality, it is arithmetic against a named survey, and the figures are on this page so you can check it.

Assisted living prices start here and depend on how much daily help a resident needs, so the number for your parent comes after a nurse reviews their care needs. Memory care is a set rate. Florida law requires the rate and any added charges to be written into the residency agreement before move in, and that is the number that governs.

What moves the number

How much help your parent needs

A resident who needs a reminder and a hand with buttons costs less to support than one who needs two people for every transfer. A nurse reviews the care needs before anyone quotes a number, and that review is what turns a starting price into a real one.

The room

A shared room costs less than a private studio at both communities. The two room styles are the same at each, so the choice is about privacy and budget rather than about which community you pick.

Which community

The Gardens in Crystal River starts lower than Sugarmill Manor in Homosassa. Both are family owned and both accept Florida Medicaid, so the difference is the building and the town rather than the standard of care.

What does not move it

Memory care is a set rate at both communities. There is no separate charge for the secured neighborhood, and no level of care ladder inside it.
